The Spirit of Radio

Once apon a time, a DJ named David Marsden sat behind a microphone at CHUM-FM in Toronto, and opened the airwaves up to a new form of radio. He introduced the city to an amazing world of music and art. As he evolved, he moved to a little radio station in Brampton, Ontario, that later called itself CFNY-FM. David brought to southern Ontario (and northern New York State) a mix of eclectic music, including the first introductions to "New Wave" and "Punk" rock. He moved up to Program Director, and the whole radio station came alive.

Recently, David Marsden passed away. Even in his "autumn years", he continued his journey through the leading edges of music and radio technology. He was a man hell bent on enjoying the music and bringing everyone along for the ride.

We'll miss you, David. Ever the "Mars Bar", ever the free-thinker and leader. And the whole cigimy of torojimo will grieve for the loss.

Rest in Peace
David Marsden
