Spring is finally here

We have had a long, cold, icy, nasty winter, and I have waited long enough for the return of pleasant weather. Spring arrived late this year, and that has interfered with both my plans, and the very fabric of suburban nature that I live in.

This year, I decided to give the deck a makeover. Since I had never sanded the deck, the wood had taken on a rough, "back woods" appearance that I didn't really like. It took two weeks with a sander (and still isn't complete), but I got the deck surface back into a silken smooth finish. After hand application of an oil-based water repellent, the deck looks better than new.

And, now to relax in the sun.
